Durham Police Seek Public's Help About Assault

Durham police need your help for information relating to the assault of a man.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are asking for information about an assault that occurred on Tuesday.

Officers said a woman told them she was walking on Washington Street near West Club Boulevard when she noticed Dallas Latae Kelly, 36, of Chapel Hill Road, lying off the roadway.

The woman took Kelly to Durham Regional Hospital, where he remained hospitalized Wednesday afternoon with severe head injuries. Police said Kelly appeared to have been struck in the face and head with an unknown object.

Authorities said they want to question anyone who might have talked to Kelly during the early hours of Tuesday morning.
