Durham police seek missing boy

— Durham police on Thursday asked for help from the public in locating a missing boy.

Angel Mejia, 15, was last seen May 21 at his home on Edwards Street. He is described as a Hispanic male, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing approximately 140 pounds. He was wearing a purple T-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4440, ext. 29340 or ext. 29315

    How come there was never a amber alert??

    Amber Alerts are primarily for abductions...this does not specify the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. I can only figure they do not believe he was abducted -

    Way to go Durham, you have the hightest crime rate in North Carolina and you wait almost one month to publish a report of a missing young man.
