— Durham police are asking for the public's help in solving a shooting and attempted robbery at a Domino's pizza store Saturday night.

A man wearing a black ski mask and dark clothing entered the store, at 3001 Holloway St., around 8:15 p.m. and exchanged gunfire with an employee who was struck in the arm, police said.

The would-be robber fled the scene in a gold 1990s Buick or Oldsmobile four-door sedan with semi-tinted windows.

Anyone with information about the hold-up is asked to contact the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4281, extension 29122, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.

Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.

"Just look for someone packing a six gun.

That is not an option. Half the mindless NRA Yahoos are wandering around toting six guns.

It's true in business that location, location, location is the most important aspect of a successful business. McDonald's is not in the hamburger business, they're in the real estate business. So when a business chooses to operate in an area like Holloway Street, you're more apt to be robbed than make a lot of money. The neighbors may not be criminals, but criminals are drawn to the seedier neighborhoods.

Strange that when WRAL first reported this story it was the manager who fired at the robber, now it's just an employee... Trying to downplay the position of the brave individual who decided to fight fire with fire?? Again CUDOS to the MANAGER who had the backbone to stand and fight versus cowering in the corner!!!! I'm sure the anti-gun individuals are finding plenty of reasons to bash him for taking a stance but they never stopped to ask themselves how this could have turned out if he had not done what he did... We could have been reading about a multiple homicide instead, which seems to be a growing trend nowadays.. More and more criminals seem to be adopting the philosophy of no witnesses, no case....
