— Durham police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in a convenience store robbery and shooting Monday afternoon.

Investigators said someone walked into the Family Fare BP, at 2502 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd., around 4:30 p.m., demanded money and then shot an employee in the arm before fleeing with a cash register.

The employee was treated at Duke University Hospital and released.

Surveillance photos from the store show that the robber was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and a white T-shirt over his face. Investigators said the man was described as a being black, standing approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 185 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4583, extension 29364, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.

Any fool knows that C-stores dont keep cash in the registers! He probly got like $40....and a one way ticket to prison. Way to go~

I've often go to the same c-store for gas, and I'm shocked at how many times they've gathered large amount of cash when I'm the only other person in the store to put it in the safe. It really all depends on how often they put it in the safe.

He will never even be arrested, at least for this crime. Even if he were, no judge would ever send the mayor to prison.
