Durham police searching for shooter, getaway driver

Posted December 8, 2014

— A man was robbed and shot in both legs outside a Durham coin laundry Monday morning, and police are searching for the shooter and his getaway driver.

Police responded to the shooting call at 2000 Chapel Hill Road around 10:50 a.m. and found a 35-year-old man with gunshot wounds to both legs.

He told police he and a friend were walking out of a coin laundry when they saw a man with a gun running towards them. The friend managed to run away and escape.

The victim told police the man shot him in his legs, stole his wallet and then fled in a waiting older model burgundy vehicle, which was driven by another person.

The victim was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No other information was released.

Anyone with information is asked to call Durham Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.

......How did that story go? No, I don't have to out run the bear, I just got to out run you... I'm sure the victim gave the LEO a better description of the person that shot him and most likely has his picture on file.
