Durham police probe Cardens Lane shooting

Durham police were investigating a shooting Saturday night that they said likely stemmed from an altercation at 401 Cardens Lane.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police were investigating a shooting Saturday night that they said likely stemmed from an altercation at 401 Cardens Lane.

Officers responding to the location were told by several witnesses that a man was shot while getting into a van.

Officers located the victim, whose name was not released, at 308 South Alston Ave. Paramedics transported him to Duke University Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the leg.

Officers said they believe the victim was shot during an altercation with another man at the Cardens Lane location just before 8 p.m.
