Durham police probe 7-year-old's shooting

Durham police are investigating a shooting that happened Sunday in front of 2307 Hart St.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a Sunday shooting in front of 2307 Hart St.

Officers responded to a 911 call at 3:06 p.m. and found a a 7-year-old boy shot. The boy, whose name was not released, appeared to have been injured by a stray bullet to the buttocks, police said.

Paramedics transported him to Duke University Hospital for treatment. His condition was unknown Sunday.

At least nine shots were fired in the incident, police said. Two parked vehicles and a stop sign also were struck by gunfire.
