Durham police officers injured during early morning arrest

— Two Durham police officers received minor injuries while making an arrest early Friday morning.

A department spokeswoman said the officers responded to a vehicle break-in on White Pine Drive around 4 a.m. and found they a man inside the vehicle.

Dexter Pride, 17, was charged with three counts of felony breaking and entering to a motor vehicle, three counts of larceny and two counts of felony assault on a law enforcement officer. 

One officer sustained a sprained shoulder, and the other received cuts to the face.

The officers were treated for their injuries and released from the hospital.

    people on here are crtizing the officers..if they did taze this punk, there would be people saying that they didn't have to taze him(yet these quarterbacks weren't there) and if they don't, they(the officers) are still criticized...unreal.

    There was a day that the article would have also stated "Pride is now in the Durham County Jail after being released from Duke Hospital." But, you know, kinder gentler law enforcement and all that...
