Durham police make an arrest in Comfort Inn robbery, shooting

A Durham man is facing charges in connection with a robbery and shooting at a Durham Comfort Inn.

DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man is facing charges in connection with a robbery and shooting at a Durham Comfort Inn.

Clarence Leon Davis, 20, of West Piedmont Street, was arrested Wednesday on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with a dangerous weapon inflicting serious injury and felony conspiracy.

The hotel, at 3508 Mount Moriah Road, was robbed at gunpoint at about 5:40 p.m. Monday, police said. An employee was shot in the hip during the robbery and transported to Duke University Hospital for treatment. The victim's name and condition were not released.
