— A 4-year-old girl died late Thursday at an apartment in the 700 block of Falls Pointe Drive, Durham police said.

Officers responding to the apartment at about 8:45 p.m. found Armani Hodges unresponsive.

Medical personnel attempted to resuscitate Armani, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

L'Cristi Sellers, Armani's aunt, said she was a "bubbly little girl."

"She fell and hit her head. I really don't know no heads or tails of it. I want to know what's going on. That's my 4-year-old niece, and she's gone and I just don't know," she said.

Sharon Warren, Armani's grandmother, said the family is waiting for a medical examiner's report.

"I just want answers. Answers to everything, answers to what happened," Warren said.

The incident is still under investigation. No charges have been filed.

How about praying for the family of this little girl instead of playing Inspector Gadget or Detective Clueless! There is a dead child here, fishy or not, that is not for you to say. A family is hurting now. Show some compassion. This could be on your doorstep next week - it people could be calling YOU fishy. Have some decency, courtesy and respect for those hurting. RIP young angel. My prayers to the family - and to those who have no sympathy for those who are hurting.

What a beautiful little baby girl! Rest in peace, little one. So sad. Hope foul play isn't the cause

Many people have got hit in the head by something; but it did not kill them. Hopefully and autopsy report will define what happen. My condolences to the family and friends.

"'She fell and hit her head. I really don't know no heads or tails of it. I want to know what's going on. That's my 4-year-old niece, and she's gone and I just don't know,' she said."

Sadly, that bump on the head can be enough to cause death. Death creeps in between one breath and the next; still, we can't live our lives in a bubble.

I pray it was just an accident and nothing more.

Prayers for all who loved the child.

An autopsy will answer all questions, hopefully. Prayers for Ms Hodges family.

This was from the girl's aunt. Makes you wonder, doesn't it.

Or maybe they don't tell all us armchair QB's everything until an investigation is complete. Believe it or not authorities don't let reporters shadow them during an investigation, and rightfully so
