Durham police are investigating three thefts of pig cookers or smokers in recent months.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating three thefts of pig cookers or smokers in recent months.

On May 23, a large $4,000 pig cooker was stolen from the driveway of a home off Mineral Springs Road. The thief was driving a black Chevrolet Silverado truck.  

In April, two pig cookers, which were chained to the back of a building, were stolen from the 3900 block of South Alston Avenue and two large smokers on a trailer were taken from Mount Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Police have not said whether they believe the crimes are related.
