Durham police are investigating a homicide that occurred just after 5 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Newsom Street.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a homicide that occurred just after 5 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Newsom Street.

The victim was a woman, authorities said. Her name has not been released.

A preliminary investigation indicated the incident does not appear to be random, officers said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Gill at 560-4440, ext. 29322 or Crime Stoppers at 683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
