— Police are asking for information about an attempted kidnapping early Friday near the entrance to Erwin Terrace Apartments in the 2800 block of Erwin Road.

A 22-year-old woman told police she was walking toward her apartment around 2:20 a.m. when a man got out of a black or dark-colored 4-door truck and approached her.

The suspect grabbed the woman and tried to drag her to the truck, but she screamed and struggled with him. The man fled when another woman heard the victim screaming and went to assist her.

The suspect was only described as a Hispanic man approximately 5-foot-6.

Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Smith at 560-4583, ext. 29366 or Crime Stoppers at 683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases and callers never have to identify themselves.
