Durham police ID woman found dead on trail

Durham, N.C. — Police on Thursday identified the 37-year-old woman who was found dead early Wednesday on Rocky Creek Trail in south Durham.
According to investigators, Shontina Nakeisha Williams, of Durham, was found by a passer-by at about 6:15 a.m. near the Elmira Avenue entrance.
Authorities have not released any information about how Williams may have died, but a 911 caller told authorities there was a lot of blood.
"I don't know if she's dead or not, but she's laid out with a lot of blood on her chest," the caller said.
Less than a mile long, Rocky Creek Trail runs south of Fayetteville Street in Durham and ends at Dakota Street just west of N.C. Highway 55.
No arrests have been made in the case.
