The search for Durham's next police chief goes public on Tuesday.

DURHAM, N.C. — The search for Durham's next police chief goes public on Tuesday.
The final three candidates -- Ronald Hodge, deputy chief in Durham; Don Green, deputy chief of Knoxville, Tenn.; and Jose Lopez, assistant police chief in Hartford, Conn. -- will take part in a 7 p.m. public forum at City Hall.

Police Chief Steve Chalmers is retiring in December. City Manager Patrick Baker hopes to have a new chief hired by September.
