DURHAM, N.C. — A man wanted in a residential theft and retail robbery in Durham was captured Tuesday after being on the run for a week, police said.

Peter Warren Chambers, 23, of Mahone Street, was caught on Lydias Way after a short foot chase, Durham police said.

Officers had been asking for the public’s help in locating Chambers, who is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of kidnapping.

Police said Chambers, wearing a black bandana to cover part of his face, went into the Rite Aid on Woodcroft Parkway on April 26 and demanded money from an employee. Two employees were forced into an office at gunpoint.

Chambers also is accused of breaking into a home on Mayruth Drive in February and stealing cash and a television. Police said he also stole a television in May.
