Durham PD seeks help in solving armed robbery

Durham police are asking the public for help in solving an armed robbery that happened Sunday at a Dollar General store on Chapel Hill Road.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are asking the public for help in solving an armed robbery that happened Sunday at a Dollar General store on Chapel Hill Road.

A customer told police he was robbed about 7:30 p.m. at gunpoint by four men wearing masks. The men took a cellphone and wallet from the victim, but they did not rob the business.

One suspect was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, in his late teens or early 20s, wearing a black mask, a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black gloves. He was armed with a silver handgun. Two other robbers also wore black masks, and one wore a white mask. All were dressed in dark clothing.
