Durham PD search for men in motel armed robbery

Posted November 21, 2012

— Durham police are asking for the public’s help in solving an armed robbery that happened earlier this month at a Sleep Inn on Page Road.

A woman told officers someone knocked on the door of her room about 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 9. She opened the door and two men entered the room, pointed a gun at her and took cash, a laptop computer, an iPad and her purse.

She said the men returned about seven hours later and stole her 2006 Lexus from the parking lot. The vehicle was found five days later on Rochelle Street.

Anyone with information is asked to call Durham police at 919-560-4415, ext. 29312, or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.

Isn't this the picture from the Fayetteville shooting this morning????? It sure does look the same.

Likely the car keys were in her purse. Which they waited for a while after the cops were long gone to find and take the car. It's up to you to protect your self and loved ones these days as the cops write reports and traffic tickets.

This wasn't a random act. Nobody robs someone and then returns 7 hours later to rob them again. Not saying that she deserved this, but there's a lot more to the story.

Should not be hard to find these guys since they were silly enough to steal her ipad. To OneLove that posted that is not a true statement. If you watch the news these suspects are targeting people they see that will give them the least resistance. They most likely spotted her in the parking lot and planned the robbery. They always work in two or three to rob you. Watch the news and you will see. It will get worse in the coming weeks with the holidays. Stay on guard and lock up.

Never open the door unless you know them......

Either a worker at the hotel 'tipped' the robbers off to the guest's goods.......or someone the victim knows was in on it. Period.
