DURHAM, N.C. — A Durham man facing a murder charge has been re-arrested on charges that he violated the conditions of his bond.

Durham police started searching Thursday for Michael Lawrence Stephens, 23, who was out on bond for the Dec. 18, 2009, slaying of 24-year-old Timothy Lee McMillian.

Orange County sheriff's deputies arrested Stephens Saturday in the 4100 block of Benn Road.

Stephens was initially arrested April 7, 2010, and charged with first-degree murder.

Police officers responding to calls about an assault found McMillian, who had been stabbed, lying on the ground in the 1500 block of East Pettigrew Street. He later died at Duke University Hospital.
