A mo-ped driver from Durham suffered serious injuries Thursday night after he pulled out of a gas station and collided with a vehicle, according to Durham police.

DURHAM, N.C. — A mo-ped driver from Durham suffered serious injuries Thursday night after he pulled out of a gas station and collided with a vehicle, according to Durham police.

Tony Henderson was attempting to turn left onto Holloway Street near North Alston Avenue around 6:40 p.m. when he collided with a westbound vehicle driven by Maxine Springs of Durham, police said.

"Henderson was hospitalized for injuries that appear to be serious, but he is reported to be in stable condition at Duke University Hospital," according to a police statement.

No charges were filed, but the crash remained under investigation by the Durham Police Department Traffic Services Unit at 919-560-4935.
