— Durham police investigators were searching Thursday for a man wanted on harassment and domestic-violence charges.

Kenneth Ross English, 30, of Hancock Street, faces two counts of violating a domestic violence protective order and one count each of intimidation of a witness and making harassing or threatening telephone calls.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Investigator Barfield at 919-560-4910, ext. 29286 or Crime Stoppers at 683-1200. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for information leading to arrests in felony cases, and callers never have to identify themselves.

According to the state Department of Correction records, English has an extensive criminal record in Wake and Durham counties dating back to 1997. He was most recently arrested in the theft of more than 200 storm grates in Durham that were stolen and then sold for scrap metal in Garner.

evidently there must be some sort of market for these grates.

dude must be hooked on crack or something.

I'm more concerned with the domestic violence then the grates. This man needs to be locked up before he hurts or kills someone. I know removing the grates creates a hazard but they are usually near the curb and can be avoided.

200 storm grates, huh? Wonder how many little kids drove their bikes into the drain because of this waste of space & air?
