Durham man wanted for sex assault, computer thefts

Police are seeking to arrest a Durham man in connection with a sexual assault and computer thefts from a local school.

DURHAM, N.C. — Police are seeking to arrest a Durham man in connection with a sexual assault and computer thefts from a local school.

Gerald Eugene Walker, 43, of Walton Street, is wanted on a charge of first-degree sexual offense with a minor in connection with a 2010 case.

Investigators also believe that Walker tried to steal two Apple computers from the Art Institute, 410 Blackwell St., on June 9 and stole four Apple computers from the school on June 16.

He faces two counts of felony conspiracy and one count each of felony larceny and attempted felony larceny.

Walker has spent 14½ of the past 22 years behind bars for convictions including armed robbery, assault inflicting serious injury and dealing drugs, according to state Department of Correction records.
