Durham man dies after shooting in Raleigh's Brier Creek area

Raleigh police said that a 27-year-old Durham man died after being shot in a parking lot at Brier Creek Parkway and Glenwood Avenue early Saturday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Durham man died after being shot multiple times in the Brier Creek area of north Raleigh early Saturday, police said.

Jason Nathaniel Wright, 27, was shot in the parking lot of the Carolina Ale House restaurant at 7901 Brier Creek Parkway, around 2:15 a.m., police said. Wright was taken to Duke University Hospital, where he died.

Based upon preliminary findings, the crime does not appear to be a random act of violence, police said. Investigators have not named any suspects or made any arrests.

More information about the shooting has not been released.
