Durham, N.C. — A Durham man was arrested Friday in connection with the Tuesday shootings of two teenage half-brothers, police said.
Thomas Deangelo Griffin, 19, of Morehead Avenue, was charged with two counts of attempted murder. He was being held in the Durham County jail under a $1 million bond.
Officers were called to Grace Lane and Liberty Street, where the boys, ages 14 and 16, were found and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. They were still hospitalized Friday.
Investigators said the brothers had been shot inside the house at 4 Grace Lane, which is vacant. Griffin was arrested across the street, at 3 Grace Lane, police said.
Police didn't release any details about a possible motive in the shootings, but they said the crime wasn't random.
The case remains under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4440 or Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
