— Durham police on Tuesday arrested a man in connection with an April homicide on South LaSalle Street.

Rakeem Montel Best, 20, of Durham faces one count of murder in the death of JeJuan Jonteil Taylor Jr., 19, who was found shot inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Duke Manor Apartments on April 18.

Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators determined that it was not a random crime.

Two other people – Hope Farley, 19, of Durham, and Thomas Antwan Clayton, 21, of Morrisville – were arrested in April and charged with murder in connection with this case.

Farley and Clayton were both also charged with conspiring to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
