DURHAM, N.C. — A 34-year-old man was arrested and charged Tuesday with killing his 3-month-old daughter, Durham police said.

Fredrick McLucas of Durham was arrested without incident on Crutchfield Street by the U.S. Marshals Service Joint Fugitive Task Force. McLucas was held in the Durham County jail Tuesday night under no bond.

Officers responded to McLucas' Gurley Street home on Jan. 31 regarding a unresponsive infant. The baby was pronounced dead at the scene.

An autopsy determined the baby died from blunt force trauma, police said.
