Durham man charged in March slaying

— Police arrested a Durham man Tuesday in connection with a fatal shooting in March.

Thorne Denicholas Rogers, 23, of Ruth Street, was charged with murder in the March 22 slaying of Marko Thornton.

Thornton, 21, of Butner, was shot in a car in the parking lot of Two Brothers convenience store, at 3310 Dearborn Drive. He died at Duke University Hospital.

Police didn't release any other details in the case, such as a possible motive or what evidence led to Rogers' arrest.

    He should get the death penalty, why should the tax payers pay for him for the rest of his life, his food, his shelter, his medical bills, if he did do it then he needs to be fried, forget the lethal injection.

    They got him and now he should be give life in prison. So many young men sitting in prison today, because they thought they were up above the law.
