Durham man charged in December shooting death

Rashad Ahmad Adams, 20, was taken into custody at the Econo Lodge in Creedmoor after investigators received an anonymous tip that he was there, authorities said.

DURHAM, N.C. — Durham County deputies on Wednesday arrested a man wanted in a shooting death two weeks ago.

Rashad Ahmad Adams, 20, was taken into custody at the Econo Lodge in Creedmoor after investigators received an anonymous tip that he was there, authorities said.

Adams was charged with murder in the Dec. 29 slaying of James Warren Holsclaw and was being held without bond in the Durham County jail.

Holsclaw, 21, was shot at 1002 Cortez St. Deputies haven't released information about a possible motive in the shooting, but they seized several pounds of marijuana, $2,625 in cash and two stolen weapons from the shooting scene.
