Durham man charged in Chapel Hill break-ins

A 19-year-old Durham man faces 19 charges in connection with a series of home break-ins in three Chapel Hill neighborhoods.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — A 19-year-old Durham man faces 19 charges in connection with a series of home break-ins in three Chapel Hill neighborhoods.

Chapel Hill police said the break-ins occurred in the Estes Hills, Somerset and Ironwoods neighborhoods between June 21 and July 18.

John Alfred Cradle was arrested Thursday on seven counts of felony breaking and entering, six counts of misdemeanor injury to real property, four counts of felony larceny after breaking and entering, and one count each of attempted breaking and entering and felony larceny.

Cradle was released from jail after posting a $2,500 secured bond.
