DURHAM, N.C. — Police arrested a Durham man Tuesday night on charges that he robbed three people on two occasions.

Alvin Maurice Hunter, 27, of Hardee Street, faces three counts each of robbery with a dangerous weapon and second-degree kidnapping and one count each of felony fleeing to elude officers, resisting, delaying and obstructing officers and driving with a revoked license.

The arrest stems from a robbery at Crestwood Suites on Meredith Drive around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and a robbery Monday evening at Springhill Suites on Slater Road.

Officers arrested Hunter after a brief police chase that ended when he tried to make a right turn and hit a telephone pole.

Hunter was in the Durham County jail Wednesday evening under a $505,000 bond.
