Durham man accused of fighting deputy during arrest
A Durham County sheriff's deputy was injured early Saturday when he tried to arrest a wanted man near Umstead Road and Lansdowne Drive.

Authorities said Deputy T.J. Price approached Robert Lawrence Williams as he was walking down the road about some outstanding warrants. Williams, 47, allegedly hit Price in the head and tried to flee.
Price caught up with Williams on foot a short time later and a fight ensued, authorities said. When backup deputies and a state trooper arrived on the scene to assist Price, they were able to take Williams into custody.
Both men suffered minor injuries. Price was treated at Duke University Hospital and Williams was treated at Durham Regional Hospital.
Upon his release from the hospital, Williams, of 2826 Ashe St., was charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting a public officer and attempted larceny. He was also served with outstanding arrest warrants on breaking and entering, assault on a government official and assault on a female charges.
He was being held in the Durham County jail under a $115,000 bond.
