Durham, N.C. — At 2:59 p.m. the Durham Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 100 Cascade Falls Lane.
On arrival, firefighters reported a three-story apartment building with heavy fire in the front part of the building, according to Battalion Chief Jeff Roberts Saturday afternoon.
The fire started on a second floor balcony and extended to the third floor and attic. The fire damaged six apartments, displacing 10 adults and five children. No injuries were reported.
The American Red Cross has been called to assist those people.
Investigators believe the fire was accidental and it was related to either an electric smoker or the extension cord supplying power to it.
