Durham doughnut shop to appear on Cooking Channel
Tom Ferguson and Brian Wiles of Rise Biscuits and Donuts in Durham will compete on Thursday's episode of "Donut Showdown" on The Cooking Channel.

DURHAM, N.C. — The Bull City is well represented on an upcoming episode of "Donut Showdown" on the Cooking Channel.
Tom Ferguson and Brian Wiles of Rise Biscuits and Donuts will be competing on Thursday's episode, which airs at 9 p.m.
The episode is titled "Bejeweled." Here's the description from the Cooking Channel website:
"A quirky cowgirl from Toronto, Ontario, an executive pastry chef from New York City and a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America from Durham, North Carolina compete in a speedy elimination round with Bran & Raisin Cereal as the mystery ingredient. The last two standing compete for $10,000 in a Bejeweled-themed Donut Showdown."
Hopefully the Rise team can take home the top prize!
