DURHAM, N.C. — A woman reported missing from Durham was found safe and has been reunited with her family, authorities said Friday.

Sally Hamrick, 67, of Durham, had been the subject of a Silver Alert after her caregiver reported her missing around 4 p.m. on Thursday in the area of Aberdeen Drive and Glenn Road.

The Durham Sheriff's Office used police dogs, directed patrols and searched an eight-mile radius while looking for Hamrick. Law enforcement authorities from Durham, Wake, Orange, and Randolph counties joined in the search, authorities said. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol provided its helicopter for an air search.

Authorities did not immediately disclose details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance or how she was found.
