— Durham County Commissioners passed a resolution to demonstrate the board’s support for the victims of Haiti’s devastating earthquake.

I'm sure the people of Haiti are touched right now. I'm sure this resolution means more to them than their health, food and water. It takes the sting away from losing their homes and families.

    Time for new commissioners!

I want them to pass a resolution that they will uphold the law in Durham - no more open air drug markets, no more prostitutes working the streets, no more flagrant abuse of traffic laws and then that they will end corruption in Durham city government.

Oh, right, the resolution for Haiti is a lot easier.

dang_skippy - a resolution costs virtually nothing. I am glad that you are concerned about the use of tax money in Durham, but I doubt you really care.

misswiggie - Counties and Cities cannot make donations to other countries. The resolution was intended to show support to the local Haitian community.

So what, exactly, does the resolution say or do other than demonstrate support??????? Should we send copies down to Haiti? Maybe they can use it for shelter or food or medical care?

What a wonderful waste of tax dollars for Durham!

Pass a resolution. What a joke!
