Durham church hosts discussion on community violence

— The Trinity United Methodist Church hosted a discussion Sunday evening about community violence in Durham. the church and community response to violence.

Church leaders explored how theology plays a role in preventing violence and harm.

"We need to earn healthy ways to deal with our emotions, and we have the capacity to do that. We've been to the moon, but we are still in the infancy of crawling when it comes to get along with one another," organizer Mark Daughtridge said.

People who attended have been impacted by violence directly or indirectly.

    It's called proactive policing and getting the management of Durham to go along with it. Durham has become a pit and most of that can be traced back to the lack of good ethical leadership of Durham
