— Durham police are investigating after a car crashed following a shooting Tuesday evening.

Authorities said a fight occurred just before 6 p.m. in a park when a suspect in a car took off at a high rate of speed, lost control, flipped over and landed in a ditch on Argonne Drive.

Two women and three men were inside the car at the time of the wreck.

Nobody was seriously injured in the crash, but one passenger in the car had a gunshot wound, police said.

Police said the gunshot wound was non-life threatening.

I'm sure the driver was late to a job interview but had to drop the other occupants of the car off at their jobs 1st

Really glad the folks in the crashed car were not innocent bystanders but participants in at least some of the shooting-related behavior. With no life-threatening injuries, I don't think I'll worry much about what else happens to them.

Getting shot is just something we should all expect to happen to us. Just like that first car wreck, you know it is going to happen. You just pray you will live through it.
