DURHAM, N.C. — Durham's 911 service was restored on Wednesday morning after an outage that lasted about two hours, the Durham Emergency Communications Center said.

Durham residents and businesses in need of emergency services should call 911.

Officials weren't sure what caused the outage, but James Soukup, director of the center, said his staff is seeking an explanation from Frontier officials as to what caused the initial problem.

Non-emergency calls should still go to 919-560-4600.
