Duplin task force seizes $1 million in meth

Posted May 26, 2010

— Duplin County authorities say they seized 17 pounds of methamphetamine hidden in horse saddles in a man’s car.

A task force, which includes Duplin County deputies, Beulaville police and State Bureau of Investigation, recently received a tip that a man was transporting drugs, Beulaville Police Chief Joey Carter said.

On May 18, authorities stopped Jose Arturo Almendarez Carcamo’s vehicle in Rose Hill. In the vehicle, authorities found three horse saddles with meth stuffed inside, Carter said.

Further investigation of the vehicle on May 21 yielded 11 additional saddles filled with meth.

Carter said the street value of the meth seized was $1 million.

Carcamo was arrested. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.

Nah... this guy is not involved in Trans-Border organized crime.....he just decided to manufacture one million dollars worth of meth, and cruise around with it packed into saddles. He is completely independent of any major drug cartels in Mexico, and to suggest otherwise is "xenophobic" and "racist"....we need to fight hard to allow more of his "associates" to sneak in the back door and set up shop.

Meth addicts make the best drug documentaries. I still can't fathom why anyone would want to use this drug. Isn't one of the ingredients to meth is clorox?

It doesn't matter what race he/she is...if the people are drug dealers, they are drug dealers and should be given a harsh punishment.

    Again, good for Duplin Co.

Good...they need to come to Wayne County...there is a mobile home park off Hwy 70 they need to look at. I heard the reason why dealers move back there is because it's back off the road and they can't be seen. That's why so many people moved out.

I wonder if any racial profiling was used in locating this thug. I say send them all back.
