DUNN, N.C. — A wreck at Fairground and Three Bridge roads killed an 80-year-old man and injured three other people Thursday evening, state troopers said.

Agatha Prevett, 73, of Erwin, halted at a stop sign on Three Bridge Road and then turned left onto Fairground Road, troopers said. Her vehicle struck one driven by Jayme Eley, 20, going south on Fairground at a high rate of speed.

Agatha Prevett's passenger, Mark Prevett, of Erwin, died, troopers said.

Agatha Prevett was airlifted to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Her condition was stable Friday evening.

Eley and his passenger, Sean Bryan, 20, were treated and released from Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital.

Troopers said that charges were pending. Alcohol was not a factor in the wreck.
