DUNN, N.C. — Dunn Police are investigating a series of car break-ins in areas near Interstate 95 (see map below).

Break-ins were reported last week at Arthur's Pizza, 1415 W. Cumberland St., Westfield Baptist Church at 700 Ashe Ave. and Red Carpet Inn.

Two more were reported early Saturday in the parking lots of the Jameson and Comfort Inns. Another was reported at May and East Edgerton streets, and another at Covington Place.

In each case, the front, driver's side window was broken and contents were stolen, Dunn Police Capt. Jimmy Pope said.

On May Street, thieves found the spare key Paul Franklin Bass kept in his truck and used it to steal the vehicle.

It was found in Cumberland County. "They just parked it beside the road and left it," Bass said.
