Duke sends crime alert to students after armed robbery on central campus

Duke University sent a crime alert to students early Wednesday after an armed robbery was reported on central campus.

DURHAM, N.C. — Duke University sent a crime alert to students early Wednesday after an armed robbery was reported on central campus.

According to police, the robbery happened at about midnight near 1901 Erwin Road, in the northeast corner of campus. No injuries were reported.

The suspects in the robbery displayed a handgun, and they were last seen in an SUV on Erwin Road headed toward Ninth Street.

Both men were about 6 feet tall. One was wearing a dark T-shirt, and the other had dark sweatpants.
