Duke Lemur Center seeks play set donations; has openings in camps, preschool programs

Posted July 16, 2013

A little update from the Duke Lemur Center in Durham ...

Niki Barnett, manager of their education programs, tells me that they are looking for donations of old Little Tykes or Stage 1 play sets, such as playhouses and slides. The lemurs love them and the ones they have are getting old. Here's more information about what they could use.

Barnett said the center, the world’s largest sanctuary for rare and endangered prosimian primates right here in Durham, has about five spaces left in its August session of Leaping Lemurs Summer Science camp. Click here for details.

And there are a few spots left in its preschool programs this summer. Click here for details. Lemur playing at Duke Lemur Center

The Lemur Center is a fantastic resource in the community and offers some great (by appointment only) tours all year. Read my earlier post for more information. I highly recommend a visit here.
