Posted December 7, 2007
Raleigh, N.C. — The lead police investigator in the now-defunct Duke University lacrosse case has a new job.
Sgt. Mark Gottlieb, who came under heavy scrutiny in the aftermath of the case, has been reassigned within the Durham Police Department.
He is also one of several officers being sued for violating the civil rights of the former Duke players.
Gottlieb now oversees several patrol units.
A police spokesman said the move was part of a routine reassignment.
