Dudley woman facing kidnapping, armed robbery charges

Dudley, N.C. — A woman is facing a kidnapping charge after authorities said she forced a store clerk into a closet during an armed robbery, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Deputies responded to a call about a robbery Friday afternoon at the Downeast Travel Center on N.C. Highway 117 South. The clerk told deputies she was robbed at knifepoint.
Deputies found the suspect at her home and arrested her.
Regina Speight, 37, of the 100 block of Heather Ann Lane in Dudley, is charged with armed robbery and first-degree kidnapping. She was held under a $400,000 secured bond.
