Goldsboro, N.C. — A 28-year-old Dudley man has been charged with kidnapping and multiple counts of assault after he allegedly injured employees at the Wayne County jail.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, David Jacob Lambert, of 950 Herring Road, assaulted at least two detention center employees on Feb. 12 in the jail's control room.
He is charged with first-degree kidnapping and two counts of assault on a law enforcement official resulting in serious injury, including other charges.
Lambert was being held at the jail on first-degree rape, first-degree sexual offense and first-degree kidnapping charges. He was originally charged on Feb. 8.
The detention center employees suffered minor injuries, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Lambert was transported to Raleigh's Central Prison following the incident, but he was brought back to the Wayne County jail and charged Thursday. He is being held on a $200,000 secured bond.
