Durham, N.C. — The Durham County Department of Social Services asked Thursday for the public's help to find a 22-month-old boy who has been missing since early August.
Andre Thompson Jr. was placed in DSS custody by the courts, and DSS and law enforcement have searched unsuccessfully for him in several counties, authorities said.
Andre was last seen by DSS workers with his mother, 25-year-old Dreama Ferguson, authorities said. There are arrest warrants out for Ferguson and the boy's father, 38-year-old Andre Thompson Sr.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children is assisting in the search for the boy.
Andre is described as black, 2 feet tall and 28 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
This is the second time the boy has been missing. In April, Durham police found the child after he was missing for about a day, and Ferguson and Thompson were arrested in Winston-Salem on charges of child neglect.
Anyone with information about the boy's or his parents' whereabouts is asked to call the Durham Police Department at 919-560-4600 or 911.
