ABERDEEN, N.C. — A driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday after the top of his car was sheared off when it went under a tractor-trailer in Aberdeen, authorities said.

The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 1 at Maple Street at about 11 a.m.

Witnesses said the truck pulled onto U.S. 1 from the side street, but the car didn't slow down and went under the trailer.
