Aberdeen, N.C. — A driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday after the top of his car was sheared off when it went under a tractor-trailer in Aberdeen, authorities said.
The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 1 at Maple Street at about 11 a.m.
Witnesses said the truck pulled onto U.S. 1 from the side street, but the car didn't slow down and went under the trailer.
Firefighters had to extricate the driver of the car, whose name hasn't been released, from the wreckage. He was taken to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital for treatment.
The truck driver wasn't injured.
