Driver sought in Fayetteville crash that closes road

Posted April 29, 2013

— Country Club Drive in Fayetteville was shut down for several hours early Monday because of a wreck, authorities said.

Fayetteville police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Country Club Drive near the intersection with Ramsey Street about 3 a.m. and found a 2005 Dodge Durango that had run off the roadway and hit a utility pole.

The driver fled the scene of the crash, so it was unclear whether the person suffered injuries.

The road reopened about 7:30 a.m., after crews repaired the pole.

Anyone with information about the driver is asked to call Fayetteville police at 910-433-1830 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477. Crime Stoppers pays cash for information leading to an arrest, and callers may remain confidential.

"The driver fled the scene of the crash, so it was unclear whether the person suffered injuries."

Seems to be a common occurence around here.
